Department Town Hall & Advice and guidance from industry leaders and Fordham alums

Our speakers will give you cutting-edge guidance on how to plan for a rewarding life and career post-Fordham. This event, held via Zoom, is required for English majors and strongly encouraged for prospective English majors.

SPEAKERS
Pardo, C. (they/them) goes by their last name and is a third-year student at Fordham Law. After founding a disability advocacy group at Fordham undergrad, they entered law school to pursue a public interest career in disability law and are currently the president of Fordham’s Disabled and Allied Law Students Association. This past summer they interned with Mental Hygiene Legal Services, representing psychiatric patients being held or medicated against their will. An avid singer, you can hear Pardo annoy their neighbors in their Hell’s Kitchen apartment, and sometimes at the piano bar down the street on karaoke nights. They are a proud New Jersey native and like Bon Jovi better than Bruce Springsteen.

Elena Ciotta is a script coordinator at Saturday Night Live. A native of Buffalo, New York, she moved to NYC to attend Fordham College at Lincoln Center in 2015. While at Fordham she held various internships at the Broadway League and Saturday Night Live. She is passionate about entertainment and helping students and young people break into the business.

Rachel Goodman is the Senior Associate Editor and Direct Marketing Specialist for the Norton Critical Editions classic reprints series at W. W. Norton & Company. She earned her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Writing, Literature, and Publishing with a concentration in Fiction Writing and a minor in Business at Emerson College. Rachel began her career as an editorial assistant and has also worked on physical science textbooks and trade translations. When she's not reading, she enjoys exploring new museums, volunteering with literary charities, theater of all sorts, and travelling the city via ferry boats.

Dana Lamparello is Head of Public Services at the McCormick Library of Special Collections & University Archives at Northwestern University. A 2007 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin’s School of Information, Dana holds a Master’s of Science in Information Studies with concentrations in archives and museums. She's spent her career mainly in cultural institutions like the Chicago History Museum, Art Institute of Chicago, and Historical Society of Pennsylvania. More recently, she completed a second master’s degree in art and architectural history from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she focused her studies on material culture and design. She currently lives in Chicago---the greatest architectural city in America (try to change her mind)!

Elle Gonzalez Rose is a YA author and Writer/Producer at MTV who received her BA from Fordham University in 2017. Her debut YA romcom CAUGHT IN A BAD FAUXMANCE is forthcoming from Joy Revolution in Fall 2023.

Synclaire Warren is a published writer, Menstrual Equity Advocate and a Wilhelmina Model. She is a graduate of Fordham University majoring in English with Creative Writing Concentration and minored in Humanitarian Studies. During her time in undergrad, she interned for UNICEF USA and Intersectional Environmentalist. Synclaire’s love of words led to her dedication to social impact as she believes that our words manifest into actions. She has published editorials with several social impact organizations like; UNICEF USA,
Dosomething.org, and Global Citizen. Synclaire uses her knowledge of linguistics to dismantle archaic decisive narratives and create new ones that further progressive movements. Currently, she is a Menstrual Equity Ambassador at DoSomething.org.
