SPEAKERS
Donna Bray is Vice-President, Co-Publisher of the Balzer + Bray imprint at HarperCollins Children's Books, where she edits fiction and nonfiction for children and teens. Many of her books have been New York Times Bestsellers, have been adapted as feature films, and have won awards and honors, including the Newbery Award, Caldecott Honor, National Book Award Finalist, Coretta Scott King Award, and Boston Globe-Horn Book Award, among others. The mother of two young adult children, she lives with her husband in Brooklyn.
Hannah Gonzalez, FCRH '20, is a second-year J.D. candidate at Stanford Law School. Originally from Southern California, she majored in history and English with a concentration in creative writing while at Fordham. Next summer, she will be returning for a third year as a summer associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, where she hopes to begin her practice as a transactional attorney. In her spare time, she loves to dance, try recipes she sees on TikTok, and write fiction.
Kwamesha Joseph's passion lies at the intersection of social justice and healthcare. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English, with minors in Philosophy and African American Studies from Fordham University in 2018. She is currently an associate medical editor, and the Co-Chair of Haymarket Media's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. A philosophy and creative writing enthusiast, Kwamesha is a member of Phi Sigma Tau, and she was selected as Fordham's representative in the Glascock Intercollegiate Poetry competition in 2017. Kwamesha lives in New York City and is working toward a nursing degree to help address health disparities in today's clinical landscape.
Tom Liam Lynch is Director of Education Policy at The Center for New York City Affairs at The New School and Editor-in-Chief of the website InsideSchools. A former educational technology professor, English teacher, and school district official for the New York City Department of Education, Lynch has written dozens of articles and presented the world over on educational technologies, online learning, school reform, new literacies, and K-12 computer science. He holds a doctorate in education from Columbia University's Teachers College.
Jill Schwartzman joined Dutton in January 2012 with a mandate to acquire platform, publicity, and voice-driven nonfiction, with a focus on celebrity, pop culture, memoir, humor, music, biography, and narrative nonfiction. Jill also teaches in the NYU Master's Program, and in her free time, enjoys running, listening to records, and learning to bake.
