The Person Behind You: A Reading from the You Anthology

The Person Behind You: A Reading from the You Anthology took place on November 4th and featured members of Welcome Table Press .

Moderated by Fordham Writer in Residence and Welcome Table Press founder, Kim Kupperman, the readings showcased the power of second person narratives to delight and provoke.

You are on a bad date with your boss, and it only gets worse; You are your father's daughter to whom he wishes to bestow his impeccable (admittedly snobbish) music taste; You are a money-stashing father, post-mortem; You are a fawn's first sight in the whole world; You are too afraid to stop a poodle from defiling your father's lawn; You are 27 years old and you haven't got a clue.

The discussion prompted the audience to consider the limitations of the second person "you" and ways of overcoming its complexities.
