12/6: Golden Gloves Literary Competition & Literary Fair, Building Your Life as a Writer & Editor
On Tuesday, December 6th, the Creative Writing Program will host a night dedicated to student work and student success at Fordham Lincoln Center.
The evening will begin with "Building Your Life as a Writer & Editor," an event focused on professional development, publishing, careers, and post-graduate opportunities for writers and editors. The event will feature a round table and Q&A with four published writers from Fordham's Creative Writing faculty: Mary Bly, Stacey D'Erasmo, Jennifer Gilmore, and Sarah Gambito. The event will take place from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. in Lincoln Center's South Lounge. This is a wonderful opportunity for writers and those looking to work in publishing to ask questions and hear about what has made others successful. Coming to "Golden Gloves" later on in the evening? Why not stop by? Please RSVP if you plan on attending this event.
Following "Building Your Life," the Creative Writing Program will host a literary fair featuring student publications from both Rose Hill and Lincoln Center. Make sure to stop by to learn about the different opportunities for student writers at Fordham and how you can submit your work and get involved in leadership positions.
Finally, the evening will commence with many students' favorite Creative Writing event of the year: "The Golden Gloves Literary Competition." All ten of Fordham's Creative Writing classes will duke it out and compete for one of three prizes: Ram d'Or, Best Experiment, and Audience Favorite. Both the literary fair and the competition itself will take place in Lincoln Center's 12th Floor Lounge from 7:00 to 8:30.
Don't miss this evening of celebrating student writing!
